Venus came into care a new mom with her 10 puppies, which is a lot of puppies for this medium sized gal (weighing in at 55 lbs). Venus is a great mom and now that her mama duties have been fulfilled it is time for her to find her furever family, where she can be the priority. Venus immediately took the hearts of all the GALS volunteers, her foster family, and basically anyone else she's met along the way, including kids. Venus has a beautiful temperament, is very affectionate and wants to be close to people. Venus also loves other dogs and has no problems getting along and finding her spot within the pack. At her foster home she has lots of fenced acres to enjoy, but she ends up following her foster mom around even when her pack is off galavanting around. She likes to check in to make sure everything is okay, especially if she hears coyotes.

Venus is currently working on recall, but training will be required for her to be trusted off-leash. Venus has good on-leash manners that will make walking enjoyable, which is an added bonus for a pup that had never been on a leash before. Venus is getting used to being inside the house and can be found chewing/hiding her toys and/or sleeping after daily walks. Venus, like most young dogs, will need an active lifestyle and her foster family would like to see her go to a household with another pack mate, although it is not mandatory. Venus likes to hide her toys/treats outside burying them for later. She also enjoys hunting small critters in the tall grass.
